Monday, August 4, 2008 – Happy Anniversary!

Seven years ago today!  The weather is just a bit cooler (and a lot less muggy) than it was that day. We’ll sum it all up in the Shakespeare sonnet that Miriam read that day:

116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments; love is not love

Which alters when it alterations finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove.

O, no, it is an ever fixed mark

That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

It is the star to every wand’ring bark,

Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.

Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle’s compass come;

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

but bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this ever be proved,

I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

If you can’t already guess, I am still home and will be this week.  I can feel a lot of physical changes still going on, but I do feel my strength better than this time last week.  What I have to work on is increasing my physical activity, which has been problematic.  Also I have developed some heartburn, which is not fun.  I took Alka Seltzer (it’s in liquid form) and am drinking chamomile tea this afternoon.  Dinah was a little noisy this afternoon so Drucker went upstairs.  Before this they have been quietly camping out with me in the living room.  Who knows, maybe they’ll be glad to see me go back to work!  This afternoon is movie time, and I will make a dinner tonight.  Except I will probably be the one with the mashed peas blended with chicken broth.
